Joe Schaefer
Joe Schaefer is a performing artist who gradually lost the ability to perform. After suffering from multiple musical injuries he now aims at helping others avoid the downfalls of habitual and harmful movement and posture. Thankfully, by applying the Alexander Technique, he's back to making music and wants to help others learn to avoid injuries, extend careers, and increase overall levels of performance and expression.
Joe is a certified Alexander Technique teacher, training with AT-MidAtlantic in Baltimore in 2015. He also holds a BA in Music Performance from Elizabethtown College. Joe has given workshops at Bloomsburg University, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Lebanon Valley College, Messiah University, Shippensburg University, and York College. He's presented through PennState Health, has previously partnered with UPMC's Center for Integrative Medicine, and is currently on faculty at Johns Hopkins' Peabody Conservatory.
